Project Description
On 26th March, I launched Close the Gap, South Africa in Phillipe Village township. It was officially inaugurated in the presence of King Filip and Queen Mathilde, who were on a state visit to South Africa at the time.
Phillipe Village is a large semi-urban area in Cape Town’s Cape Flats region, in the Western Cape, South Africa. It consists of a marginalized community afflicted with crime.
We aim to bridge the digital divide with our tech hub which will provide ICT upcycling services and will operate in a joint venture with AST Recycling experts in both ITAD and e-waste management. We’ll also have a computer device shop for the community. We look forward to engaging with the youth through digital skills and entrepreneurship training programs.
